What is Microblading?
Microblading is a semi-permanent tattoo technique where pigment is manually placed into the top layers of the skin creating individual hair strokes. This technique is the latest tattoo trend to creating beautiful brows.
Is this the same as an eyebrow tattoo?
Absolutely not. The end result in the Microblading process is very natural because of the technique involved it only penetrates the top layers of the skin. The strokes thus result in a hair like appearance. Hair strokes are created one by one, unlike the traditional eyebrow tattoos where the entire eyebrow is filled in ‘block style’ and fading that causes a blue or grey appearance.
Does the Microblading procedure hurt?
Numbing cream is applied prior to the Microblading procedure to ease any discomfort a client may have and then again after the first pass. Clients tend to relate the feeling of Microblading to that of threading eyebrows. A discomfort level of 3-4 on a scale of 1-10 is the most common. Every client as far as level of sensitivity will vary, but the results are worth it.
What is the healing process?
Do not expect your brow tattoo to heal perfectly after the first session. This is a 2 step process. Some people may require an additional session based on your skin type and retention.
- Be patient during the 2 weeks of healing your brows will change from day to day
- Immediately after your brows will appear darker and more defined
- You may experience scabbing/itching or appear dry and flaky DO NOT PICK your brows they need to fall of naturally if scabs come off prematurely pigment can come off and cause patchy brows
- When scabbing comes off your brows may appear faint a fresh layer of skin is healed over the pigment be patient give it a few weeks the strokes will become clearer
- Not everyone will heal clean and crisp, hair strokes for oiler types tend to heal more solid and powdery. Drier skin types tend to heal more crisp and defined
How long does Microblading last?
There is no guarantee to how long the Microblading strokes will last. There are a lot of factors that must be considered. [i.e. skin type, skin care regimen, sun exposure, iron deficiency, hormones, etc.] Generally, the procedure tends to last anywhere from a year to a year and a half. It is recommended to get a Color Pop every year to year to keep your new brows looking their best.
